Under the bright lights of the ballpark, every so often the game gifts us something unforgettable — a moment that feels bigger than baseball itself. That was the 2025 season. Crushing balls into the night sky, our home team shined as brilliantly as anything the game had to offer last year. What made last year so magical was its unpredictability.  Like Frelick’s amazing off the wall double play catch, the Crüe’s amazing plays didn’t happen on schedule. You couldn’t plan them, script them, or force them. They arrived just in time — maybe once in a season, maybe once in a decade. But every game held the promise that tonight could be the night that we would get to the World Series. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Our magical comet burned out a little too soon. So … there’s always the promise of next year. And this year hope always springs eternal.
